SAMRUK-KAZYNA National Wealth Fund has been established in accordance with the Edict of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 13, 2008 through amalgamation of KAZYNA Sustainable Development Fund and SAMRUK Holding for State Asset Management.

SAMRUK-KAZYNA National Wealth Fund is the national holding company with the main goal of effective management, on an ownership basis, of shares of development institutions, national companies, and other legal entities.
