International financial organizations

For the expansion of the Bank’s investment opportunities and sustaining a positive image of Kazakhstan the Bank pays special attention to the development of cooperation with international financial organizations.

The Bank constantly studies and attempts to implement the experience of other successfully operating development institutions by means of membership in different associations, cooperation with the international organizations, participation in different conferences, summits, and seminars. Expansion of the Bank’s business connections allows not only to actively co-operate with international financial institutions but also to attract foreign investments into the diversification of the economy of Kazakhstan.

For this purpose the Bank regularly organizes international events which are attended by representatives of international financial organizations, rating agencies, auditing companies, and prospective investors.

Starting from 2003 Bank has been a member of the Association of Development Financing Institutions of Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) and the Association’s Board of Directors.

A successful international activity of the Bank is evidenced by a number of awards from international financial organizations. In 2005 the international financial edition "Euromoney" granted the Bank the title of “The Most Dynamic Development Bank in the World”. In 2006 the Bank was recognized as “The Leading Bank in Corporate Governance in Emerging Europe» by Euromoney. Besides, in 2005 and 2007 projects of the Bank were recognized as the best projects in transport and energy infrastructure.

The Bank is a competent member of the Inter Bank Association a of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). In October, 2007 the Bank was elected the Chairman of the Inter Bank Association of the SCO.

With a view of expansion of its activity the Bank actively cooperates with the leading international financial institutions. In particular, memorandums and co-operation agreements have been concluded with such organizations as Vneshekonombank of Russia, Export-Import Bank of Romania, Korean Development Bank, European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, Islamic Development Bank, Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Development Bank of China, Turkish Development Bank, Northern Investment Bank (NIB), JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch (Merrill Lynch), ABN AMRO, UBS, Bank of America, Export-Import Bank of Slovak Republic, etc.

Development Institutions

For the purpose of improving its effectiveness, harmonization of actions and risk-sharing when financing long-term investment projects the Bank works at the establishment and maintenance of strategic partnerships with the national development institutions.

The Bank has concluded memorandums on cooperation with the State Insurance Corporation on Insurance of Export Operations, the Investment Fund of Kazakhstan, the Centre for Engineering and Technology Transfer, and the Corporation for Export Development and Promotion.

In accordance with the Memorandums on cooperation signed together with the national development institutions a number of investment projects are financed jointly with the Investment Fund of Kazakhstan JSC and a series of export operations financed by the Bank were insured by the State Export Insurance Corporation JSC. The Bank actively participates in the events organized by other national development institutions.
