KEP plans to increase aluminum productionfor five years up to 265 000 tons in year - DBK

Famously, for the construction of a plant for the production of primary aluminum in 2010, DBK granted a loan of $ 400 million.

"The Bank's funds were used to complete the construction of the first stage, and partly to start construction of the second stage of the plant. The design capacity of the plant is 250 000 tons of products per year. Today the enterprise has reached this indicator and sets itself new tasks to increase production indicators," said Bakhytzhan Omarov, senior banker of the Directorate for Customer Relations of the DBK.

By the way, in the first half of this year the plant has increased the output of primary aluminum by 1.6%, having produced 127 thousand tons of products for six months against 125 thousand tons in the same period of the last year.

"This indicator was achieved due to the intensification of production, namely, the main effective factor was the increase in current on the high-current electrolysers used. In total this year the enterprise intends to produce 258 thousand tons of aluminum, which is also 1.6% higher than last year's figure," said Acting Vice President for Production Baurzhan Smailov.

Also, the company is studying the possibility of producing aluminum and increasing the production capacity of the enterprise by building an additional series of electrolysis.

It is worth noting that in February of this year the electrolysis plant for the first time shipped a batch of liquid aluminum - Giessenhaus received five tons of products. The company explained that the entire volume of metal in the current year will be delivered to the customer in liquid form, which will reduce the cost of finished products.

The Kazakhstan electrolysis plant is the only aluminum producer in Kazakhstan. This is one of the first large industrial projects implemented in the newest history of Kazakhstan. KEP supplies aluminum to more than 20 countries, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, the countries of Southern and Central Europe.

In just ten years of operation, the Kazakhstan electrolysis plant produced more than 2 million tons of primary aluminum. At the plant there are 288 electrolysers, the daily capacity of which today reaches 2500 kg.
