The SCO Interbank Association (IBA) conference will be held online on August 7.
Heads of the SCO IBA banks, representatives of ministries and leading experts will discuss strategies for overcoming the global economic crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Economists from Russia and the SCO countries will present their analysis of the situation and forecast for the coming months, propose action plans to overcome the crisis and exchange practical experience on measures to support national economies.
Development institutions of the SCO countries played a crucial role in fighting the economic consequences of the pandemic, supporting businesses with loans and guarantees, curbing unemployment, and providing reliable support to the governments of the organization's member countries. Over the past six months, they have accumulated unique experience that can be useful to their colleagues in the SCO IBA in the fight against new challenges, including in case of the "second wave" of coronavirus. Being the Chairman of the SCO IBA in 2020 and the initiator of development of the anti-crisis "Road Map", VEB.RF is the organizer of the event.
The conference will be opened by the rector of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration Vladimir Mau, who will make a report on the prospects for economic cooperation between the SCO countries in the period of post-pandemic economic recovery. Representatives of VEB.RF's top management, representatives of Russian ministries and the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, Head of the Eurasian Development Bank Nikolay Podguzov will also take part in the conference, as well as national development institutions of the SCO countries: Public Development Bank of China, the National Import-Export Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, etc. The Russian Export Center (part of the VEB.RF group) and the SME Corporation will also tell us about the results of anti-crisis measures applying. Development Bank of Kazakhstan will be presented by Deputy Chairman of the Management Board Duman Aubakirov, who will share DBK's experience in supporting customers and employees in the fight against the consequences of the pandemic.
The conference will be held on August 7 in the Glassroom Multimedia Auditorium of Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO. The event is scheduled to start at 10.00 a.m. Moscow time. The broadcast will be available at the link.
