A working visit to Almaty was held by Zhandos Shaikhy, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of "Baiterek" National Managing Holding JSC, and Marat Yelibayev, Chairman of the Management Board of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC (DBK). The purpose of the visit was to discuss mechanisms for involving second-tier banks in financing the real sector of the economy, in line with the directive of the President of Kazakhstan.
The main event of the visit was a meeting of the Managing project Office for Lending to the Real Sector of the Economy, attended by representatives of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of Financial Market, the Association of Financiers of Kazakhstan, heads of subsidiaries of "Baiterek" NMH JSC, as well as second-tier banks. The meeting was organized by "Baiterek" NMH JSC. During the discussion, the parties exchanged views on financing priority sectors and agreed on approaches for further cooperation.
As part of the visit, separate meetings were also held with the management of second-tier banks. The discussions focused on expanding cooperation, exploring joint participation in investment projects, and introducing new financing instruments. Particular attention was given to the implementation of a guarantee mechanism for large businesses through a new fund under the «Damu» Entrepreneurship Development Fund» JSC, as well as opportunities for co-financing and syndicated financing.
“Development Bank of Kazakhstan is consistently expanding its partnerships with financial institutions. Such meetings allow us to promptly align our approaches to financing and jointly identify effective solutions to support domestic entrepreneurship and implement investment projects,” said Marat Yelibayev, Chairman of the Management Board of DBK.
