It is planned to build the first phase of a 50 MW wind power plant near Astana by the middle of 2019

The cost of the project is KZT 46.1 bln. DBK provides a loan for 10.5 years in the amount of KZT 30.5 bln. DBK-Leasing, a subsidiary of DBK, also contributed to the project financing, which provided funds in the amount of KZT 3.6 bln in the form of financial leasing for the purchase of equipment. The borrower's own funds within the project financing will amount to KZT 12 bln.

The first phase of the 50 MW wind power plant is planned to be built by the middle of 2019. By this time the station will be provided with infrastructure facilities and is equipped with 15 wind power generators of V112-3.3MW type produced by Vestas company.

"The environmental aspect is an important component of the Project. The commissioning of this wind power plant will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 230,000 tons per year, which exceeds the emissions of more than 113,000 cars per year. In the course of the Project implementation a set of new developments and technologies for wind energy conversion adapted to the climatic conditions of the region will be used," noted Ayzhan Bitebayeva, the Senior Banker of the Directorate for Customer Relations of DBK.

Once completed, the wind station can meet the needs of more than 10,000 families through renewable energy sources, thereby reducing the use of fossil fuels.
