The event, organized by PwC Kazakhstan and Strategy&, brought together experts in the field of international and regional stock markets, green bank financing, as well as representatives of international development institutions, corporate and banking sectors.

Dina Zhanadil, Managing Director of DBK, made a presentation at the panel session «Increasing the volume of green debt financing». In her speech, she presented the Bank's activities in the field of sustainable development.

Dina Zhanadil noted that the Bank's new strategy is based on increasing the Bank's contribution to the economy of Kazakhstan through the development of the non-resource sector of the economy and infrastructure, which together contribute to economic growth.

«In the context of the Bank's new long-term strategy, one of the key strategic directions is sustainable development. Within this area, the Bank is working on the implementation of ESG principles in its activities. Among other things, ESG criteria were developed for borrowers, green bonds were issued on KASE and AIX, and the first ESG rating from Sustainable Fitch was obtained. Work is also underway to expand the portfolio of «green» projects, including projects in the field of renewable energy sources», comments Dina Zhanadil.

The Development Bank of Kazakhstan has recently approved a new development strategy for the period from 2024 to 2033, which is aimed at increasing the Bank's contribution to the economy of Kazakhstan, improving the efficiency of asset management and ensuring sustainable development.
