The long-term development strategy of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan (hereinafter - the Development Bank) was approved by the resolution of the Board of Directors as of July 14, 2014 (Minutes No. 156) and defines strategic targets and key directions for development until 2023.

On September 29, 2017, by the resolution of the Board of Directors of the Development Bank (Minutes No. 196-2017-07), the development strategy was updated taking into account the current macroeconomic situation and new initiatives.

In accordance with the development strategy until 2023, the main strategic directions of the Development Bank for the planned period are:

  1. Loan services;
  2. Management of financial resources;
  3. Corporate governance and improvement of work organization.

The strategic targets of the Bank in the above areas for the period up to 2023 are:

  • investment in the period 2014-2023 about KZT 4.4 trillion into development of manufacturing industries and industrial infrastructure;
  • increase in the share of the loan portfolio from total assets of the Bank up to 77% by 2023;
  • ensuring the high quality of the Bank's portfolio of projects - maintaining the level of provisions for the loan portfolio at the level of no more than 10% in 2023;
  • increase in the share of non-state sources of borrowing in the general structure of borrowing to at least 80% in 2023;
  • increase in the share of the private sector in the loan portfolio to at least 70% by 2023
