DBK and Standard Chartered expand financial cooperation between Kazakhstan and Hong Kong

Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC (a subsidiary of Baiterek Holding, hereinafter – DBK, the Bank) and Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding. The document was signed by Marat Yelibayev, Chairman of the Management Board of DBK, and Mary Huen, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered for Hong Kong, Greater China, and North Asia.

Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC and Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The document was signed during a visit to Kazakhstan by a business delegation from Hong Kong and mainland China, led by the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, John Lee.

The agreement aims to develop financial cooperation between Kazakhstan and Hong Kong, support key sectors of the economy, and attract cross-border investments. It provides for the development of project financing, credit solutions, currency risk hedging instruments, and cooperation in capital markets.

Marat Yelibayev, Chairman of the Management Board of DBK, noted the successful experience of implementing joint projects with Chinese partners in the automotive industry, the oil and gas sector, and renewable energy, emphasizing the potential for further strengthening economic ties in the region.
