Dina Zhanadil, Managing Director of Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC (a subsidiary of Baiterek Holding, hereinafter – DBK, the Bank), spoke at the International Investment Dialogue on the Development of PPP in Kazakhstan. The event was organized by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with the Asian Development Bank.
During the panel session “Transforming Kazakhstan’s Infrastructure: Synergy between the State, International Financial Institutions and Investors”, Dina Zhanadil presented DBK as a coordinator of interaction between the parties and outlined practical cases of the Bank’s participation in PPP projects. These include the co-financing of the construction of a multidisciplinary hospital in Kokshetau jointly with international lenders, as well as the provision of broadband internet access to rural settlements in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The speaker outlined the key criteria for assessing such initiatives, including risk allocation and the socio-economic impact for the regions.
Special attention was paid to the transformation of Baiterek Holding into the National Investment Holding with the introduction of the “single window” principle for investment support. The resource base indicators of DBK were also presented, confirming a high level of trust from international and domestic investors.
