Botagoz Abisheva, Deputy Chairperson of the Management Board of Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC (a subsidiary of Baiterek Holding, hereinafter – DBK, the Bank), took part in the annual China–Southeast Asia Economic and Finance Forum organized by China International Capital Corporation (CICC) in Singapore. This year, the forum was dedicated to the transformation of international capital flows and supply chains amid global economic changes.
The participants focused on the prospects for capital market development, financing attraction strategies, investment opportunities in Southeast Asian countries, the development of artificial intelligence, and issues of sustainable economic growth. The forum brought together representatives of government agencies, international financial institutions, the investment community, and business.
As part of the panel session dedicated to the development of yuan financing strategies, Botagoz Abisheva presented DBK’s experience in entering the Chinese capital market. During the discussion, it was noted that the debut placement of Dim Sum bonds marked an important stage in diversifying the Bank’s funding sources and expanding cooperation with Asian investors.
It was also emphasized that DBK considers raising financing in yuan as one of the strategic areas for developing its funding base to implement long-term investment projects. In addition, the speaker spoke about the transformation of Baiterek Holding into a National Investment Holding.
As part of the working visit, a series of meetings with international investors was also held, during which the parties discussed prospects for further cooperation, the development of interaction with Asian financial institutions, including opportunities to attract long-term capital to finance the Bank’s projects.
