By the decision of the Sole Shareholder of Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC represented by National Management Holding «Baiterek» JSC Marat Yelibayev appointed as Chairman of the Board of DBK. Previously, he served as Deputy Chairman of the Management Board and member of the Board of Directors of the Bank.
Marat Talgatovich Yelibayev was born in 1984. He graduated from the Kazakh Economic University named after T. Ryskulov with a degree in Finance and Accounting, as well as London Business School within the framework of the international Bolashak program, where he received a Master’s degree in finance. He is a member of the Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve.
He began his career in 2004 at the Big Four company Deloitte as an auditor and senior auditor, where he audited projects in the metallurgy, mining, oil and gas, transport and logistics, as well as state-owned companies. From 2007 to 2010, he continued his career path at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a mergers and acquisitions manager. In 2010-2014, he held the position of investment director/vice president at CITIC Kazyna Investment Fund I L.P. Since 2014, he served as Chief Banker of the Energy Department Eurasia, Middle East and Africa of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), where he was responsible for the development of the renewable energy program in Kazakhstan.
In March 2022, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Board of DBK.
Marat Yelibayev replaced Baybazarov Nurlan Serikovich in his new post, who on October 5, 2023 was appointed chairman of the board of Baiterek NMH.
