Following the assessment conducted by PwC Kazakhstan, Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC (a subsidiary of Baiterek Holding, hereinafter referred to as KDB or the Bank) has, for the second consecutive year, been included in the TOP-10 of the annual ESG disclosure ranking.
The Bank received an “A” rating, confirming not only a high level of quality and transparency in information disclosure, but also its leadership in ESG disclosure quality within the financial sector.
The assessment covered 98 of Kazakhstan’s largest companies and was based on 165 criteria, encompassing key areas such as sustainable development strategy, environmental impact, social responsibility, corporate governance, reporting practices, and sectoral analysis.
DBK was ranked in the TOP-10 alongside companies including Samruk-Energo JSC, KazMunayGas NC JSC, KEGOC JSC, NAC Kazatomprom JSC, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy NC JSC, among others. In the ranking of leading financial institutions by the level of ESG disclosure, DBK confidently secured first place, heading the top three alongside Bank CenterCredit JSC and Otbasy Bank JSC.
In addition, the Bank was awarded a diploma for “Best ESG Disclosure in the Financial Sector”, achieving first place with an “A” rating, as well as a diploma for “Best Corporate Governance Disclosure”, confirming a high level of transparency and maturity of the Bank’s corporate governance practices.
Overall, the results of the PwC Kazakhstan ranking confirm the strong position of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan as one of the leaders in the financial sector in terms of ESG disclosure quality and corporate governance, as well as its consistent implementation of best practices in transparency and responsibility.
