DBK in the region is represented by unique city-forming projects in the fields of chemical industry, tourism, transport and logistics.
In 2015, KazAzot JSC, the only producer of ammonia and ammonium nitrate in Kazakhstan, and DBK commenced cooperation. At that time, the Development Bank provided the company with 40.5 billion tenge to modernize its fertilizer production plant and increase its design capacity for finished products. KazAzot was one of the first organizations to receive support under the SPIID. DBK also supported the company in developing and strengthening its position in export markets through the provision of export financing. This time the support amounted to 3 billion tenge. Now shipment of ammonium nitrate is carried out to such countries as Ukraine, Russia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, USA, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The fact that in 2020, KazAzot paid 5.5 times more taxes than in 2015 testifies to the success of the state-important project.
Another equally important enterprise for the region is NC Aktau Commercial Seaport JSC. The cooperation of DBK with the national company began with the project "Expansion of the Aktau International Sea Trade Port to the north". Successful implementation of the project brought the Mangystau region closer to the goal of becoming a transport and logistics hub in south-western Kazakhstan. Today, Aktau Commercial Seaport is an equal participant in the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, which focuses on ensuring freight traffic between Kazakhstan, China, South-East and Central Asia, Turkey and Southern European countries.
The DBK's portfolio of transport and logistics projects in the region is complemented by the KazTransGas Aimak JSC project. Implementation of the investment project "Construction of the back-up line of the Uzen-Aktau gas pipeline at the Uzen-Zhetybai section" made it possible to avoid disruption of gas supply to settlements in the Mangystau region, as well as meet the growing needs of the chemical complex KazAzot and other industrial facilities, which are of strategic and socio-economic importance to the region and the country. DBK's financial support amounted to over KZT3.5 billion.
