3 000 new freight gondola railcars will be purchased by Kaztemirtrans, a subsidiary of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC.
The Project is implemented as part of the 2030 Transport and Logistics Potential Development Concept of Kazakhstan with the financial support of Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC and Industrial Development Fund JSC.
It is known that in July 2022, at a meeting on the transport and transit potential development, the Head of State instructed to take measures to strengthen the railway fleet and overhaul the railways with a focus on the development of domestic railway engineering.
Today, the physical wear of railway infrastructure and rolling stock is over 57%, and the service life exceeds 30 years. About 14 thousand railcars are expected to be out of service by 2030, and it is important to systematically renew the fleet. The new gondola railcars will renew the Company’s gondola fleet by 10%.
Freight gondola railcars to be purchased by Kaztemirtrans under the Project will be used to transport cargo in international and intra-republican directions, including socially important goods.
